The opening ceremony of a training program for judges from Arab countries was held at the National Judges College in Beijing on Oct 29. Sun Zhenping, head of the Political Department of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.
Sun expressed his high expectations for the training program. He noted that China attaches great importance to its friendly relations with Arab countries. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Arab countries, Sun said, adding that despite changes in the international landscape, China and Arab countries have continued to stand together and deepen their longstanding friendship.
Sun said that China's SPC has actively promoted exchanges and cooperation with judicial institutions in Arab countries. He expressed hope that the training program would serve as an opportunity to further deepen practical judicial cooperation between China and Arab countries, jointly advance the implementation of the China-proposed four global initiatives and contribute judicial wisdom and legal support to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
Participants from Jordan and Mauritania delivered remarks at the ceremony. A total of 21 judges and judicial officials from Arab countries, along with officials from the National Judges College, attended the ceremony.
