A training program for judges from Latin American countries opened at the National Judges College in Beijing on Oct 21. Sun Zhenping, head of the Political Department of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.
Welcoming the participants, Sun said that China and Latin America have jointly formed a community with a shared future that moves forward hand in hand. Guided by the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, China's SPC has continued to deepen practical judicial cooperation with Latin American countries, he noted.
Sun expressed the hope that the program would foster candid exchanges and mutual learning, helping build international consensus on the rule of law. Such exchanges would provide stronger legal support for broader dialogue between China and Latin America and contribute to building a community with a shared future for humanity, he said.
Representatives of the participants from Mexico and Peru also addressed the ceremony. A total of 18 justices, judges and judicial officials from five countries, alongside representatives of the National Judges College, attended the event.
