Zhang extended a warm welcome to Yigit, noting that China and Turkiye are both emerging major countries and important members of the Global South. He said that during the meeting between the two countries’ presidents in North China's Tianjin in August last year, the two sides emphasized the importance of embracing the trend of the times toward peace, development and win-win cooperation, supporting each other in the pursuit of national prosperity, elevating the China-Turkiye strategic cooperative relationship to new heights, and working together to build a more just and equitable global governance system.
Zhang noted that the judicial organs of the two countries have maintained close exchanges and cooperation over the years, expressing confidence that Yigit’s visit would further enhance mutual understanding and trust and strengthen their longstanding friendship.
During the meeting, Zhang briefed the delegation on the work of Chinese courts in administrative adjudication. He noted that administrative adjudication is an important area of judicial work in upholding the rule of law with Chinese characteristics and advancing law-based governance in all respects. In recent years, Chinese courts have developed a range of working mechanisms and measures that conform to the principles of administrative adjudication by drawing on China’s national conditions, social traditions and judicial practices, Zhang noted. These efforts have helped promote the resolution of administrative disputes through diverse channels and advance the development of law-based government, he added.
Zhang said China’s SPC stands ready to work with the Council of State of Turkiye to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning in administrative adjudication and further expand cooperation. Such efforts, he said, would provide stronger judicial support for deepening the China-Turkiye strategic cooperative relationship and pursuing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
Yigit thanked Zhang for the meeting, describing their talks as candid, friendly, pragmatic and productive. He said the meeting helped build consensus and strengthen friendship between the two sides. He expressed hope that the two judicial organs would take the meeting as an opportunity to act on the important consensus reached by the two countries’ heads of state on jointly upholding the international order and rules and safeguarding international fairness and justice. By fulfilling their responsibilities under the rule of law and working together to address challenges, he said, the two sides could contribute more to building a more just and equitable global governance system and maintaining regional and world peace and stability.
Officials from China’s SPC, the Council of State of Turkiye and the embassy of Turkiye in China attended the meeting.
