Gao Xiaoli, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China, met with a delegation of 54 international participants from the Peking University Dongfang Scholarship program in Beijing on Sept 11.
Gao welcomed the participants to the SPC and introduced China's path of advancing the rule of law, progress in developing the rule of law in the new era, and the SPC's efforts in international judicial cooperation.
Gao said China’s courts have made notable progress in serving the country’s overall development and delivering justice to the people. She expressed her hope that the exchange would help deepen mutual understanding and trust, strengthen cooperation, and enable the participants to contribute their insights and expertise to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
A member of the Parliament of Vanuatu spoke at the event as a representative of the program participants.
Gao exchanged views with the participants on topics of mutual interest.
Officials from relevant SPC departments attended the event.
