Gao Xiaoli, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China, met with a delegation led by John Thomas, a member and first chair of the Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts (SIFoCC) Steering Group, in Beijing on Sept 11.
Gao extended warm welcome to the guests and briefed them on China's judicial practices in foreign-related civil and commercial cases. She also exchanged views with them on the application of artificial intelligence in commercial adjudication.
Gao said that the SPC hopes to further strengthen cooperation with the SIFoCC and work together to contribute to the development of a higher-level international commercial dispute resolution mechanism.
Thomas commended China's achievements in international commercial dispute resolution and expressed hope for deeper exchanges and cooperation in relevant areas.
Officials from relevant SPC departments attended the meeting.
