The opening ceremony of an advanced training program for judicial and legal professionals from Belt and Road countries was held at the National Judges College in Beijing on Sept 7. Sun Zhenping, head of the Political Department of China’s Supreme People’s Court (SPC), attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.
Sun welcomed the participants and said that China’s SPC has been committed to deepening practical judicial cooperation with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. He expressed the hope that candid exchanges and mutual learning among the participants would provide stronger support for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and inject greater rule-of-law strength into the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
Representatives of the participants from Ethiopia, Gambia and Papua New Guinea delivered remarks at the ceremony. A total of 27 judges and judicial officials from eight countries and the African Union Commission, along with officials from the National Judges College, attended the ceremony.
