The opening ceremony of a training program for judges from African countries was held at the National Judges College in Beijing on July 15. Sun Zhenping, head of the Political Department of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) of China, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.
Sun extended a warm welcome to the African judges attending the program. He noted that China and Africa enjoy a longstanding friendship and that their friendly cooperation has reached a new starting point in the new era.
China’s SPC stands ready to work with its counterparts in African countries to promote exchanges and mutual learning among legal civilizations, uphold the common values of humanity, and provide legal support for building a community with a shared future for humanity, Sun said.
Representatives of the judges from Ethiopia and The Gambia also delivered remarks. Judges from four African countries and officials from the National Judges College attended the opening ceremony.
