The opening ceremony of a training program for judges from developing countries was held at the National Judges College on June 30. Sun Zhenping, head of the Political Department of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) of China, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.
Sun noted that China attaches great importance to cooperation with other developing countries, advocates and upholds true multilateralism, and calls for the building of a global development partnership. China’s SPC has always been committed to deepening practical cooperation with judicial institutions of other developing countries, he added. Through this training program, Sun noted, China hopes to bring together judicial wisdom from China and other developing countries, jointly implement the four global initiatives proposed by China, namely the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative, and contribute judicial support to global governance reform and the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
Representatives of trainees from Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Kenya delivered remarks at the ceremony. A total of 30 judges and judicial officials from developing countries, along with officials from the National Judges College, attended the opening ceremony.
