Zhang Jun, chief justice and president of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) of China, met with a delegation led by Adisak Tantiwong, president of the Supreme Court of Thailand, in Beijing on June 12.

Zhang extended a warm welcome to Adisak and his delegation, saying that the two countries are good neighbors, good friends and good partners.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations in 2025, the two sides reached important consensus on advancing the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future, charting a new vision for the development of bilateral relations, according to Zhang.
He noted that judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two countries have remained close. This visit would surely deepen friendly relations between the judicial authorities of China and Thailand, providing strong legal safeguards for further advancing the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future, he added.
Zhang briefed the delegation on China’s efforts in advancing the development of the rule of law and the work of Chinese courts, with a focus on the progress and experience in developing digital courts, which was of particular interest to the Thai side.
He noted that Chinese courts have promoted the deep integration of technological innovation and judicial practices, and have established a nationwide integrated court system for case handling and administrative operations, leveraging technology to improve the quality and efficiency of judicial services.
He expressed the hope that the two sides would take this meeting as an opportunity to carry forward the special bond of friendship between the two countries, implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and enhance mutual learning between the two legal civilizations, so as to open a new chapter in China-Thailand judicial friendship and cooperation.
For his part, Adisak thanked Zhang for the meeting. He said the discussions were candid, friendly, practical and efficient, helping the two sides build consensus and strengthen friendship while laying a solid foundation for future exchanges and cooperation.
He expressed the hope that both parties would continue to uphold their traditional friendship, strengthen collaboration, deepen exchanges and mutual learning in areas including digital court development, and carry out more practical cooperation to better benefit the people of both nations.
Prior to the meeting, the delegation visited the exhibition hall of smart judiciary achievements of the People’s Court Press and learned about China’s application of intelligent technologies in the judicial field.
Tao Kaiyuan, vice-president of the SPC, Varapote Chensavasdijai, minister of the Thai embassy in China, and officials from the SPC, the Supreme Court of Thailand and the Thai embassy in China also attended the meeting.
