The closing ceremony for the China-Latin America and Caribbean Region Legal Professionals Exchange Program was held at the National Judges College of China in Beijing on June 9.
Sun Zhenping, head of the Political Department of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.
Sun congratulated the participants on successfully completing the exchange and training program. He said that the SPC is willing to provide a platform for exchanges and cooperation with members of the legal and judicial communities from Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries, with a view to deepening mutual understanding and promoting practical cooperation.
He expressed the hope that such exchanges would contribute to the implementation of the five programs for cooperation between China and LAC countries, which aim to build a China-LAC community with a shared future, and inject new momentum into high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
Adriana Orocu Chavarria, president of the Costa Rican Judicial Association, and Jose Didimo Escobar Samaniego, a researcher at Panama Center for Asian Strategic Studies, delivered remarks on behalf of the participants.
Program participants and representatives of the National Judges College attended the ceremony.
