The national demonstration training program for foreign-related judicial professionals opened at the National Judges College on May 25. A total of 99 high-level judicial professionals engaged in foreign-related adjudication from courts across the country participated in the five-day program.

It seeks to strengthen participants’ confidence, determination and commitment to the path of socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics, while enhancing their ability to safeguard the interests of the country and the people through the rule of law, in line with the Opinions of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on Strengthening Adjudication Work in the New Era and relevant decisions on the coordinated advancement of domestic and foreign-related rule of law.
The training program is jointly organized for the first time by the Supreme People’s Court (SPC)’s Political Department, third and fourth civil divisions, and the National Judges College. With a strong emphasis on political guidance, practice and problem-solving, the program’s curriculum covers topics including China’s major-country diplomacy, current international economic and trade developments, foreign-related intellectual property adjudication, and maritime and admiralty adjudication. The courses are designed to help participants gain a more accurate understanding of the political stance, value orientation, working approaches, and practical requirements of foreign-related adjudication, and support Chinese modernization through judicial work.
To enhance relevance and effectiveness, the program organizers collected practical challenges and suggestions from participants in advance. The program adopts a model that combines centralized training with specialized, group-based instruction, and includes dedicated discussion sessions to promote exchange of experience and integration of theory with practice.
An official from the Political Department of the SPC delivered remarks at the opening ceremony. A representative from the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce gave the first lecture, focusing on accurately understanding changes and responding to new challenges in the international legal framework governing trade and economic affairs.
