Shen Liang, vice-president of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) of China, met with Selçuk Ünal, ambassador of Türkiye to China, in Beijing on April 20.

Noting that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Türkiye, Shen said based on the longstanding friendship between the two countries, courts of both sides have maintained close exchanges and practical cooperation. 

He reviewed the progress made in judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, introduced recent developments in China’s rule of law and the work of its courts, and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including the application of artificial intelligence in the judicial field. 

Shen expressed the hope that both sides would further deepen friendly ties between their judicial institutions and continuously expand the substance of China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations.

Ünal thanked Shen for the meeting and expressed his hope for further strengthening practical cooperation with China in the judicial field.

Officials from relevant departments of the SPC also attended the meeting.
