The Supreme People’s Court released the 2025 summary of judgment essentials of its Intellectual Property Court on April 22.

The summary contains 159 key adjudicatory principles distilled from 132 selected cases out of 3,146 cases concluded by the court in 2025. 

It covers eight key areas of IP adjudication, namely patent grant and confirmation, patent ownership and infringement, new plant varieties, integrated circuit layout designs, technical secrets, computer software, monopoly and procedural matters. 

Presenting a comprehensive overview of the court’s judicial philosophy, adjudicatory approaches, and reasoning methods in handling technology-related intellectual property and monopoly cases, it serves as research materials and reference for all sectors of society.

With the exception of a small number of cases, the full judgments of the selected cases have been made publicly available on China Judgments Online.
