Deng Xiuming, executive vice-president of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) of China, met with a delegation led by Agnes Czine, justice of the Constitutional Court of Hungary, in Beijing on March 30.
Deng noted that China and Hungary share a long-standing friendship, adding that Hungary is an important partner for China in advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and in promoting collaboration between China and Central and Eastern European countries. Under the strategic guidance of the two countries’ leaders, bilateral relations have further strengthened and judicial exchanges between the two sides have remained close, with productive dialogues conducted in frontier areas such as digital court development and the application of artificial intelligence by the judiciary, he said.
Deng briefed the delegation on China’s progress in advancing the rule of law and the work of Chinese courts, particularly a series of practical measures taken to support high-quality development and meet the judicial needs of the people. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges, enhance mutual learning, and inject new momentum into the development of bilateral relations through stronger legal frameworks.
Czine thanked Deng for the meeting and commended China’s achievements in the development of the rule of law. She expressed her expectation to further deepen practical cooperation between the two countries’ judiciaries and jointly promote innovation in judicial development.
Péter Király, deputy head of mission at the Hungarian embassy in China, and officials from relevant departments of the SPC also attended the meeting.
