Liu Guixiang, a standing member (vice-ministerial level) of the adjudication committee of China’s Supreme People’s Court (SPC), met with a delegation led by Nguyen Van Tien, deputy chief justice of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam, in Beijing on Aug 18.

Liu welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the progress of Chinese courts in bankruptcy adjudication. He noted that courts in China have taken effective measures to advance the rule of law in the field, to facilitate the restructuring and orderly exit of market entities and to serve high-quality development.

Liu said that China’s SPC is ready to work with its Vietnamese counterpart to further implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and the presidents of the two top courts, carrying forward the traditional friendship featuring “camaraderie plus brotherhood”, and continuously strengthening judicial exchanges and practical cooperation between two countries.

Nguyen expressed appreciation for the meeting and said that the Vietnamese side is willing to deepen cooperation and judicial experience sharing with China.

Officials from relevant departments of the SPC also attended the meeting.
