The fifth seminar for judges from Latin American countries, hosted by China’s National Judges College, concluded at the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) in Beijing on July 22. Liu Guixiang, a standing member of the SPC’s adjudication committee (vice-ministerial level), attended the closing ceremony and delivered remarks.

Liu spoke about the friendly exchanges between China and Latin American countries, saying that during the seminar, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges and mutual learning, fully demonstrating the spirit of inclusiveness and cooperation.

He expressed the hope that this program will serve as a new starting point for deepening practical cooperation with Latin American countries, fostering Belt and Road cooperation, and injecting lasting momentum of the rule of law into the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

Thirty judicial officers from nine countries—Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Uruguay— participated in the two-week program. Representatives of the participants delivered speeches at the closing ceremony.
