From April 1 to 9, He Xiaorong, justice and vice-president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China, led a delegation to attend the 15th Congress of the International Association of Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions (IASAJ) held in Santiago, Chile, which was followed by a visit to Brazil.

At the IASAJ Congress, He delivered a keynote speech on balancing public interest in administrative adjudication, showcasing China's judicial practices in safeguarding public interest through administrative litigation and presenting outlook for international cooperation in this area. 

Ricardo Blanco Herrera, president of Chile’s Supreme Court, met with He on the sidelines of the congress, where they exchanged ideas on exploring opportunities for enhanced judicial cooperation. He also held talks with representatives from other participating nations on topics of mutual interest. 

While in Brazil, Edson Fachin, vice-president of the Supreme Federal Court of Brazil, met with the delegation, discussing artificial intelligence application in judicial systems. Herman Benjamin, president of the National High Court of Brazil, also met with the delegation and they signed a memorandum of understanding to further deepen bilateral judicial cooperation and exchanges.

Representatives from SPC, the Beijing High People’s Court and the Hainan High People’s Court participated in the visit, accompanied by relevant staff from the Chinese embassies in Chile and Brazil during the related activities.
