CWJA celebrates International Day of Women Judges

China Women Judges Association (CWJA) celebrated the fourth International Day of Women Judges in Ya’an, Southwest China's Sichuan province, on March 18. The event featured inspiring stories that showcased contributions and  professional excellence of women judges and were intended to raise public awareness about laws.

Yang Linping, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court and president of the CWJA, delivered a speech at the event.

She emphasized the pivotal role of women judges in the judiciary, noting that their professionalism and dedication to public service have been instrumental in advancing judicial work. The event also featured an initiative on women’s legal education in rural areas, aiming to enhance the legal awareness of women and minors in western regions through outreach programs in schools, rural communities, and factories.

Yang reaffirmed the CWJA’s commitment to supporting women judges, and leveraging their wisdom and strengths in judicial work. She also emphasized the association’s dedication to protecting their rights, fostering professional development, and expanding their international influence.

The event was attended by representatives from the All-China Women's Federation, the China Judges’ Federation of Literature and Art, and the Sichuan High People’s Court. Spanning four days and four sessions, the event was organized by the CWJA in collaboration with China Judges’ Federation of Literature and Art and legal organizations in Sichuan.
