SPC highlights liaison with non-CPC members

The Supreme People’s Court (SPC) held a symposium attended by leading officials of the central committees of non-Communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) as well as representatives of personages without party affiliation on Jan 24.

Zhang Jun, president of the SPC, delivered a speech at the symposium, highlighting key achievements courts across China made over the past year, particularly their efforts in handling a rising number of complex cases. He emphasized the focus of courts on proactive measures to prevent disputes, improving internal efficiency, and administering strict, impartial justice to support high-quality development and high-level security.

Participants acknowledged the progress made by courts nationwide and provided insights and suggestions on further improving their work. Expressing his gratitude for the continuous support of non-Communist parties, the ACFIC and personages without party affiliation, Zhang called on these groups to offer more expertise support for the work of courts, and pool their wisdom and strength so as to jointly promote the development of the rule of law in China.

Zhang also urged courts at all levels to innovate their working methods, strengthen liaison mechanisms, actively accept supervision, and translate suggestions into concrete actions.

Deng Xiuming, vice-president of the SPC, chaired the meeting and gave a briefing on the work of courts in 2024. Ma Lihuai, deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, also attended the meeting, along with officials from the SPC and related organizations.
