China’s chief justice meets with prosecutor general of Russia

Zhang, also chief justice of China, extended a warm welcome to their visit and said that China and Russia are each other's largest neighboring countries and comprehensive strategic partners of coordination. Both sides regard each other as a priority cooperation partner and always treat each other with mutual respect and equality, becoming a good example of major-country relations, according to Zhang. Under the guidance of the head-of-state diplomacy, China and Russia have maintained close exchanges at all levels, with judicial cooperation expanded in scope and elevated to new levels, he added.

Zhang introduced China's rule of law development, court work and judicial reform in recent years, especially the internet court development which is of common interest to both sides. He said that under the guidance of China's central leadership, the development of the socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics has been accelerated, yielding significant progress in the reform of the judicial system, and that social fairness and justice have been further guaranteed.

China's SPC is ready to work with Russia's General Prosecutor's Office to jointly implement the key consensus reached between the two heads of state, enhance judicial cooperation, and safeguard social stability, in a bid to provide strong judicial services and guarantees to the efforts in deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era, facilitating the alignment and cooperation of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union framework, and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, he said.

Krasnov expressed his thanks for the meeting and acknowledged the friendly exchanges and cooperation between judicial organs of both countries under the care of the two heads of state. He said that Russia is ready to continue to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China in the field of law enforcement and justice, and jointly boost the economic and social development of the two sides so as to benefit the people of both countries.
