Inspection teams oversee combat against gang crimes
Xinhua -- Since July 20, inspection teams have been sent to 30 provincial-level regions to oversee crackdown operations against gangs and organized crime, according to China's national office against organized crime on July 27.
The inspection teams are focusing on fixing the shortcomings in combating gangs and organized crime in major regions, and advancing the special campaign against such crimes, according to the office.
During the inspections tours, the teams will also research building long-term mechanisms to prevent gangs and organized crime, the office noted.
Inspection teams to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps were postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the region, the office added.
