BEIJING -- China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) has issued a plan to further advance the modernization of the country's adjudicatory system and capacity.

The document put forward clear requirements in 10 aspects, including upholding the Party's absolute leadership over adjudicatory work, deepening reforms of the judicial system and building smart courts.

It asked courts at all levels to effectively implement the leadership of the Party in all aspects of their work, consciously accept the supervision of the National People's Congress and from all aspects, and ensure the orderly public participation in judicial activities.

Efforts should be made to improve courts' ability to serve the overall situation and support economic and social development, said the SPC, adding that judicial services should be provided to facilitate major strategies of the country, such as optimizing law-based business environment and strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights.

Courts should also promote core socialist values in adjudication and the implementation of sentences, and safeguard law-based epidemic prevention and control, said the SPC.

It also pledged to deepen the comprehensive judicial reform and strengthen the supervision of the adjudicatory power.
