SPC’s enforcement arm partners with China’s postal express to ensure process service
The Enforcement Bureau of the Supreme People’s Court signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China Postal Express & Logistics on Dec 23 for strategic cooperation in facilitating cross-regional delivery service of enforcement documents.
Under the MoU, the bureau will send a digital version of the enforcement documents from local courts around the country that need cross-regional service to China Postal Express & Logistics via a uniform platform. The latter will then dispatch them to corresponding local branches for printing, packaging and delivery.
This new-type of service mode is expected to tremendously improve the efficiency of the service by removing a number of stages in the traditional service of process which often requires rail or air transport.
In addition, China Postal Express & Logistics will also assist courts in locating people subject to court order enforcement, according to the MoU.
The cooperation serves as a meaningful attempt by the SPC to bring in professional expertise and improve its purchasing of outside services.
