SPC president calls for strengthening application of block chain, AI
Zhou Qiang, president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), called for strengthening the application of block chain technology and artificial intelligence to judicial works at a meeting on Nov 8.
The meeting, or the second plenary session of the SPC's leading group on cybersecurity and information technology headed by Zhou, passed a series of reports on the building of the smart courts system and the application of artificial intelligence, along with 14 standards on the adoption of information technology.

Zhou pointed out that the work of smart court building has made a significant breakthrough this year as 91 percent of Chinese courts now have their own electronic synchronized court file generation systems.

Also this year, a nation-wide cross-regional case filing network has been achieved and the pilot project of an online mobile court steadily advanced, according to Zhou.
He once again called for advancing the smart courts project so as to promote the modernization and capability of the trial system.
