NPC deputies from Taiwan inspect Guangdong courts

Twelve deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) from Taiwan inspected courts in Guangdong province on June 6.

The delegation from Taiwan, led by Huang Zhixian, a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th NPC, visited the Guangzhou Internet Court where they attended a remote hearing with the support of 5G and 4K UHD audio and video transmission.

Their trip in Guangdong includes visit to the Guangdong High People's Court.

Zhong Jianping, executive vice-president of the Guangdong High people's court, described the court's legal protection for the rights and interests of Taiwan residents and businesses in Guangdong.

Huang affirmed the courts' implementation of the measures to offer judicial services for cross-Straits integration and development that issued by the Supreme People’s Court, adding that the courts actively respond to the judicial appeals of Taiwan residents with justice and efficient trials as well as equal protection.

Guangdong courts include people from the Taiwan chamber of commerce, NPC deputies and CPPCC members in civil and commercial dispute mediations related to Taiwan, one third of which are satisfactorily concluded, said Chen Yunying, one of the twelve NPC deputies.

The NPC deputies gave advice regarding cross-Straits law personnel exchanges as well as the creation of business environment of rule of law in Guangdong.
