SPC vice-president attends 2019 Nanhu IP forum
The establishment of the Intellectual Property Court of Supreme People’s Court is a major measure to comprehensively deepen judicial reform and promote justice, said Luo Dongchuan, president of the IP court and vice-president of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC), at the 2019 IPR Nanhu Forum International Conference of Globalization and International Property Protection.
The conference was held at Zhengzhou, capital of Central China’s Hehan province, on Apr 13.
The IP Court’s establishment is a crucial step in building China into a powerful nation in terms of intellectual property, science and technology and it’s an innovate measure meant to strictly protect IP rights, support the strategy of innovation-driven development, and build China as a international first-class business environment, said Luo, adding that it’s significant for the judicial system development and the rule of law in China.
Luo urged the court to be a pathfinder for judicial reform, promoter of scientific and technological innovation, maintainer of fair competition, and maker and leader in international rules.
In addition, he encouraged the court to play an role in optimizing IP courts system, promoting the litigation system reform, and the modernization of IP trial system and capacity.
The court should strengthen the smart court construction, he said. Trial talents cultivation also should be promoted. IP courts should be a cradle to cultivate trial talents on patents and other technical related cases, he said.
As part of his participation in the forum Luo visited the fourth circuit court of the SPC and Zhengzhou IP court to inspect their judicial reform, case trials, information construction and talent cultivation.
