Top court collects suggestion for 2018 work report

A seminar to collect suggestion for the work report of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) was held at the SPC on Jan 23, with 21 special consultants in attendance.

SPC President Zhou Qiang said the SPC will read and consider the suggestions, which will complete the report and help improve judicial work of courts at various levels in China.

At the meeting, Zhou said he hoped the consultants will continue to be concerned with the courts' work and give more suggestions to help judicial agencies improve.

He also pointed out that China's courts throughout 2018 administrated justice for the people and maintained judicial fairness, which kept a sound and stable society and led the people feel justice in each judicial case.

As 2019 is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, he required that all judicial staff members must make efforts to strengthen enforcement work, deepen judicial reform, and build smart courts and professional and normalized teams of judges to promote high-quality economic development and offer judicial guarantees for securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects..

The seminar was chaired by Li Shaoping, vice-president of the SPC. Also present were other SPC leaders including Zhang Shuyuan, Gao Jinghong, Luo Dongchuan, Liu Haiquan and He Xiaorong, as well as various SPC staff members.
