Promoting modernization of litigation service centers was stressed by Jiang Wei, vice-president of the Supreme People's Court, when he inspected courts in Anhui province from Dec 27 to 28.

Jiang visited the litigation service centers in Bengbu Intermediate People's Court and the Fengyang People's Court and learned about their case filing and litigation service work from judges, parties and lawyers.

Later, he listened to work reports on litigation service in Bengbu and Mingguang cities and Fengyang and Dingyuan counties and had a seminar with judicial officers, mediators and jurors.

During the meeting, Jiang affirmed the judicial achievement such as the construction of litigation service centers and the adoption of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) that courts in Anhui made in recent years and encouraged other courts to follow their lead.

He required that courts at various levels continue to promote the development of modern litigation service centers and obtain new demands under the reform and opening-up in the new era.

Jiang urged the grassroots courts to resolve disputes instead of submitting cases to the upper courts.

The split-flow model, which diverts complicated and simple cases into different channels, was also encouraged to be adopted to improve judicial efficiency and quality.
