Accepting supervision and suggestions of the special supervisors is an efficient way to improve judicial work of courts, according to the top court's Vice-president Jiang Wei at an exchange meeting for special supervisors at the Fourth Circuit Court on Dec 21.

At the meeting, 12 special supervisors gave their suggestions on aspects including trial enforcement, judicial reform and legal publicity.

Jiang encouraged special supervisors to communicate with the people and learn their judicial needs to ensure the people's voices are heard on judicial policies, deepening judicial reform and informatization of the courts.

He said that he hoped supervisors will promote courts' judicial work and stories of excellent judges to help the people learn about and support the courts’ work.

Special supervisors are selected from deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the national committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), democratic parties members, federations of industry and commerce representatives, independents, scholars and experts and grassroots communities by the SPC to supervise the SPC's trials and enforcement and give suggestions and advice.

In addition to his remarks on special supervisors, Jiang, on behalf of SPC President Zhou Qiang, also gave a report on the Supreme People's Court's (SPC) work in 2018 from aspects such as maintaining national security and social stability, creating a sound and healthy legal environment for economic growth, meeting the increasing judicial demand of the people, making efforts to resolve the problem of difficult enforcement and deepening judicial reform in an all-round way.

Li Guanyu, vice-president of the Fourth Circuit Court also outlined the court's judicial work for the this year.

According to Jiang, the SPC should collect the suggestions special supervisors put forward at the meeting and continue to make efforts to administer justice for the people and maintain judicial fairness to let the people feel fairness and justice in each judicial case.
