The Supreme People's Court (SPC) held a meeting to pass on judicial requirements referred to at the grand gathering celebrating the 40th anniversary of the country's reform and opening-up held in Beijing on Dec 18.

At the meeting, the need to offer judicial guarantee for reform and opening-up in the new era was pointed out. Courts must faithfully perform the duties conferred by the Constitution and maintain constitutional authority.

Courts must deal with cases fairly and efficiently in accordance with the law and strengthen judicial support for the stable development of employment, finance, international trade, foreign exchange and investment to create an open and predicable business climate.

Courts are also required to focus on building an open world economy and building a community with a shared future for mankind through increasing international judicial exchanges and cooperation and improving trials of foreign-related commercial and maritime affairs.

Deepening judicial reform and fully implementing judicial accountability were also emphasized at the meeting. Courts are required to make and implement the outline of the fifth Five Year Reform to promote the fair, efficient and authoritative socialist judicial system and let the people feel fairness and justice in each judicial case.

The building of the Internet courts is a key to pushing forward the integration of modern technology and judicial trials. Increasing the use of big data, artificial intelligence and block chains in judicial work adds to a rapid informatization of the litigation system.
