More judicial cooperation is on the way between China and Qatar, the State of Sudan and Egypt, according to a delegation of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) that visited Qatar, Sudan and Egypt from Dec 3 to 12.
The delegation was led by Jiang Wei, the SPC's vice-president and Grand Justice of the second rank.
During their visits, Jiang shared China's construction of the rule of law and achievements of the judicial reform with the three countries' judicial personnel.
Staffs at Qatar's Supreme Court explained the judicial system and the construction of courts in their country and expressed their eagerness to sign a judicial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chinese counterpart as soon as possible.
President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir met with the delegation during their stay in the State of Sudan. Omar said the Belt and Road Initiative benefits African countries and he hoped Sudan and China could increase judicial exchanges and cooperation on the frame of the BRI and advance the China-Sudan relationship.
Jiang echoed him said that China is willing to work together with Sudan in the judicial area and provide legal assistance and judicial guarantees for China and Sudan's economic growth.
In Egypt, Jiang said both China and Egypt are ancient civilizations and hoped they will exchange case studies and judge training.
The Egypt side highly valued the SPC delegation's visit and said they hoped the SPC and the Supreme Constitutional Court will sign a judicial MOU soon to accelerate China-Egypt judicial cooperation.
