It was stressed at a recent seminar that the Supreme People's Court (SPC) will continue to attentively handle proposals of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and accept the public's supervision and suggestions.

A delegation led by Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the 13th CPPCC, took a survey visit to the SPC on Nov 14 and led a seminar on the SPC's dealings with CPPCC's proposals.

According to Li Shaoping, vice-president of the SPC, a total of 168 proposals from the first session of the 13th CPPCC will be undertaken by the SPC.

The SPC is committed to handling the proposals through information measures normatively and accurately.

Li said the SPC will make further progress in deepening judicial reform, serving healthy and sustainable development of an economic sociology and fostering resolution of issues raised by the proposals.

At the seminar, Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of the SPC, said the CPPCC highly values and supports the work of courts at various levels and has held negotiation meetings and democratic sessions, collected suggestions from all sides and offered advice about difficult problems the courts have faced since the 18th National People's Congress in 2012.

He added that there is a need to optimize consultation and negotiation mechanisms to improve accuracy and judgment enforcement.

Shao said the visit was a chance for representatives of proposers and undertakers to exchange and communicate.

He mentioned that he hopes the SPC will collect deputies' suggestion and at the same time accept public supervision, which will gain people's understanding and support for judicial work.
