Twenty-seven deputies to the National People’s Congress in four delegations from Shanghai, Jiangsu province, Fujian province and Tibet autonomous region carried out a five-day visit to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region High People’s Court on Sept 10.
They inspected the information center of the court and listened to a report on the court’s work and suggestions on how to resolve basic law enforcement difficulties. They also heard a report by Zhang Shuyuan, the secretary of the court's Leading Party Members’ Group, on the court’s working conditions in Xinjiang.
Zhang said that this year courts at all levels insist on using justice and judicial functions to overcome enforcement difficulties, promote judicial system reform and speed up construction of smart courts.
Zhang said that in the long term, enforcement difficulty is an important social integrity problem influencing judicial credibility. It arouses high attention from all levels of life and an intense reaction from the public.
In the past two years, courts in China have been working to improve and optimize the enforcement system and its standards, quality and efficiency, according to Zhang.
He expressed his hopes that NPC deputies will go to court more frequently for inspection and instruction and continue to support enforcement work to encourage all of society to respect judicial adjudication and bear in mind the tasks and difficulties faced by courts in enforcement work in a comprehensive way.
The deputies will also visit courts in some regions in the Xinjiang, including Yuli, Urumqi and the Bayinguoleng Mongolia Autonomous Prefecture to learn about the courts' challenges in breaking enforcement difficulties and construction of litigation service centers informatization.
