The head of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) went to Southern China’s Guangdong province to review the work of its court from July 23 to 27.
Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of the SPC conducted his review in various cities such as Shenzhen, Shanwei, Meizhou and Shantou.
Zhou informed the courts that they are required to conscientiously summarize the procedures and outcomes of typical cases and proceed with confidence in overcoming any difficulty in reaching a verdict.
In Yantian District Court of Shenzhen, Zhou witnessed all-around paperless office procedures for the whole process which improve trial quality and efficiency and constitute a breakthrough in supervision and management.
He said that courts at the grassroots level have successfully applied a pioneering spirit based on practice and should summarize their experience and spread it to other courts in China.
In the litigation service centers of courts at the district level in Meizhou and Shantou, Zhou Qiang talked with judges, lawyers and people involved and listened to their opinions and suggestions.
It’s necessary to focus on the needs of people and combine online and offline services. We should also appreciate the role of lawyers and safeguard justice to meet people’s multiple judicial demands.
