A senior official of China’s Supreme People’s Court (SPC) met with a Supreme Court of Singapore delegation on July 11.
Liu Guixiang, a member of the judicial committee of the SPC, welcomed the delegation and outlined the establishment of the international commercial court set up by the SPC.
He said that the SPC decided to establish such courts to hear international commercial cases and build a stable, fair, transparent, convenient and legalized international business environment.
International commercial courts support the parties involved to handle international commercial disputes in the best possible way through dispute resolution platforms such as mediation, arbitration and litigation, according to Liu.
These are significant measures in the new age to strengthen international legal cooperation and provide just and efficient judicial service and legal guarantees to the Belt and Road construction, Liu said.
Liu added that the SPC hopes to strengthen cooperation with Singapore in resolution of international commercial disputes for the promotion of all-round cooperation.
