The first and second international commercial courts of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) were recently inaugurated in Shenzhen, Southern China’s Guangdong province and Xi’an, Northern China’s Shaanxi province.
Jiang Bixin, vice-president of the SPC, and officials from local governments attended and spoke at the launching ceremony.
Jiang pointed out that the establishment of the courts is of significance in foreign-related commercial trial development and is a new move by the people’s court in Belt and Road Initiative construction.
He emphasized that cases should be based on facts in an independent and just way to ensure that every case can endure the test of law and history.
It’s required to implement diversified dispute settlement methods and support the use of mediation and arbitration so as to provide judicial support to international commercial arbitration agencies and efficiently improve qualified legal service, according to Jiang.
Jiang added that it’s also necessary to stick to the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration and to strengthen international judicial exchanges.
