The fourth national work conference on intellectual property trials was closed on July 10.
Supreme People’s Court president Zhou Qiang closely followed and contributed to the conference proceedings.
Zhou set some requirements for IP trial work and praised the courts’ achievements in that area since the opening of the 18th CPC National Congress.
The conference also specified goals and tasks of IP trial work in the new era. All the specified requirements are strategic and of great significance to IP trial work.
IP trial work layout must be modernized and made more capable through reform and innovation, the conference said.
There must also be improvement in trial quality and efficiency with emphasis on the IP litigation system and priority given to IP court system construction. And it’s also necessary to enhance judicial credibility and influence to provide more powerful judicial guarantees of China’s becoming an IP power and world technology superpower.
It was also pointed out at the conference that emerging problems and conditions in the IP trial field should be a special focus as should promotion of professional IP trial careers.
Finally, the conference considered it necessary to deepen understanding of the goals and tasks of IP trial work and proceed with confidence and determination to break new ground.
