The vice-president of the Supreme People’s Court emphasized improvement of competence in environmental resource trials in a training course on July 6.
Jiang Bixin pointed out that it’s necessary to use the most rigorous legal system to protect the ecological environment, and administrative authorities should crack down on harmful environmental behavior.
He emphasized sticking to the rule of law and preventing abuse or misuse of administrative regulatory powers to protect people’s legal rights and interests.
Courts are required to implement judicial review over environmental resource administrative regulations including limits of authority, application of laws, procedures and misuse of authority, as well as the facts of each case, according to Jiang.
He pointed out that improvement to the level of environmental resource trials requires standardized administrative behavior as well as efforts to resolve disputes and conclude environmental resource administrative cases in a just and efficient way.
