A senior Chinese security official met with Kyaw Swe, home affairs minister of Myanmar, at the Sixth China-Myanmar ministerial meeting on law-enforcement and security cooperation in Beijing on July 4.
Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, said that China and Myanmar share a profound friendship.
China is willing to implement a neighborly diplomacy of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness and work with Myanmar to promote China-Myanmar comprehensive strategic cooperation, according to Guo.
He said that he hopes the meeting will prove an opportunity to strengthen the crackdown on transnational crime and increase cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative’s major project for security and law-enforcement in border regions in the Mekong river area.
Kyaw Swe said that Myanmar is willing to closely cooperate with the Chinese side and bring the cooperation to a new level.
