The head of China’s Supreme People’s Court met with a Russian delegation led by Valery Mitskevich, deputy head of the presidential administration of Russia, on July 3.
Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of SPC, outlined the situation regarding China’s legal construction and judicial reform.
He said that since the opening of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, historical achievements have arisen in China’s reform and opening up and socialist modernization construction.
Chinese courts are working to deepen judicial system reform, strengthen smart court construction and promote judge team building to be more standard and professional to make people feel that they are fairly and justly treated in every case, according to Zhou.
He pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus, people-to-people exchanges are becoming increasingly frequent.
And with the growth of friendly relationships, more frequent personnel exchanges and economic and trade contacts, judicial authorities should deepen cooperation and strengthen exchanges in reform, smart court construction and training of judges to protect the rights and interests of citizen and enterprises of the two countries and promote Belt and Road Initiative construction.
Mitskevich expressed gratitude to Zhou for the meeting and praised China’s achievements in legal construction. He said that he is willing to promote judicial cooperation between the two countries and strengthen exchanges regarding judicial reform for the growth of an amicable relationship.
