The head of China’s Supreme People’s Court (SPC) stressed the need to strengthen judicial protection of property rights in a meeting with the chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce on Jan 31.
Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of the SPC, said that the courts should give full play to their judicial function and protect the legal rights of entrepreneurs to create a sound and legal environment for business.
Zhou emphasized that China should improve judicial policies and publicize typical cases, working to build a sound social environment where property rights and legitimate rights and interests of entrepreneurs are protected.
He indicated the desirability of the legal system strengthening and deepening contact with the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce for the system’s development and that of the economy.
The All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce is a non-governmental national chamber of commerce bridging government and non-public economic entities.
It’s also necessary to unblock communication channels and listen to suggestions from the federation’s experts to better ascertain the demands of entrepreneurs, according to Zhou.
Zhou added that full play should be given to the role of chambers of commerce in mediation. The connections between litigation and mediation should also be improved to provide more qualified and convenient multiple dispute resolution services.
It works as a channel to discover the judicial demands of non-public enterprises and the general public, and helps courts fully perform their functions, guaranteeing healthy development of non-public sectors of the economy.
