Guo Shengkun, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Mark Sedwill, the UK’s national security advisor on Jan 11 in Beijing.
To build a community of common destiny, which provides new opportunities for Sino-UK cooperation, was stressed in the report of the 19th CPC National Congress, Guo said.
Guo expressed his hopes that law-enforcement and security departments of the two sides will grasp opportunities and implement the common consensus between the two leaders.
He added that the two countries should work to deepen cooperation in counter-terrorism and the fight against transnational organizational crime and help promote Sino-UK Golden Age relations.
Sedwill echoed Guo said he is willing to strengthen law-enforcement and security cooperation.
