The head of China’s top court on Jan 3 urged strengthening of legal research on tax issues and promotion of their legal construction.
Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of the Supreme People’s Court, pointed out that strengthening legal construction around tax revenue helps promote modernization and capacity of the national governance system.
Zhou also called for a response to needs of the times and research in new era with a focus on solving the cutting-edge and underlying problems.
It’s necessary to promote legislation and law-enforcement to help provide legal guarantees to realize the goal of deepening tax system reform and improving local tax systems, Zhou said.
He added that it’s also necessary to realize information and data sharing, especially to make use of judicial big data to offer support to research on tax law, managerial decisions and promotion of social governance.
Zhou emphasized the desirability of legal publicity work and raising people’s awareness of tax laws to build a sound environment for legal construction in that area.
