Zhou said he hoped the visit of Pavel Zeman can open a new chapter between the two countries in the judicial field.
Zhou outlined judicial reform and legal construction in China. He said that China, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping as the core, emphasizes building its legal system and is building a socialist country under the rule of law.
The quality of judicial personnel is improving, according to Zhou, as is the quality and efficiency of trials.
A new round of scientific and technical revolution based on new information technology is unfolding, said Zhou, noting that the Internet has become the driving force of innovative-driven development.
Information technology promotes modern judicial practices. Its rapid growth is a powerful support to judicial fairness and judgment efficiency and thus contributes to social equality, said Zhou.
He added that courts in China are taking advantage of the information system and smart services to make online case filing and open access to trial processes and judgment documents a reality.
Zhou added that judicial organizations in both countries should enhance cooperation and play a bigger role in performing judicial functions, strengthening property rights protection and building a stable and harmonious legal social environment for fair competition.
Zeman echoed Zhou, introducing the Czech Republic’s judicial system and its progress in fighting crime.
He also expressed his desire for closer cooperation in the judicial sector between the two countries.
