The deputy head of China's top court inspected internet-based case hearings and judicial reform programs on Feb 14 and 15 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province.

Li Shaoping, vice president of the Supreme People's Court of China, visited several local people's courts in Hangzhou and made an on-scene observation of the speech-to-text conversion system for court hearings, online litigation processes, online case hearings, and the integrated multiple disputes settlement platform.

Li listened to reports made by local court officials, legal experts, and professionals on deepening reliance on online case hearings.

A new trial mode — combining Internet technology and court hearings — is under integrated development.

Li spoke highly of the exploration and positive outcomes of online trial case hearings and information construction in the courts.

He called for more innovation in making lawsuits easier and improving judicial fairness.
