The Honorary Vice President of the China Judges Association met with a visiting Taiwan delegation in Changsha, capital of Central China's Hunan province, on January 12.
Hu Tengyun, who's also the vice president of the Chinese Judicial Studies Association, received the 18-member delegation led by Wei-Ta Pan, president of Soochow University.
Hu briefed Wei-Ta Pan on the communication between the China Judges Association, the Chinese Judicial Studies Association, and the legal field in the Taiwan region.
He also introduced the comprehensive legal reform of the Chinese mainland, which emphasizes "letting people experience justice and fairness in every judicial case."
Hu said that people across the strait share the same history and culture, and that exchange can boost the legal sector.
At the invitation of the Hunan Judges Association, the Taiwan delegation -- consisting of presidents of law institutes, law professors and lawyers -- visited the Hunan Provincial Higher People's Court.
The week-long visit starting from January 7 also took the Taiwan group to courts in Zhangjiajie and the Zhijiang Dong Autonomous County.
