China launched a new guiding principle on the prevention of bullying and violence among primary and middle school students on Nov 11.
Ministry of Education, together with several other central organs including the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Civil Affairs, and others, released the guidance outline, demanding stronger prevention, punishment, and treatment of bullying and violence on campus.
According to the principle, primary and middle schools around the country should step up education on morality, law, and mental health.
Schools should strengthen everyday regulations and management, early-warning and effective management. The post-intervention system should also be established.
For those who frequently bully or perpetuate violence on other students, should have their actions noted in a comprehensive record. For those who commit crimes, they should be dealt with in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
