On September 30, a project assessment meeting was held in Beijing to discuss Road of Chinese Jurisdiction, a large-scale TV documentary jointly shot by the Film Television Center of the Supreme People’s Court and Zhonggangshi (Beijing) Cultural & Media Co. Ltd.
Jing Hanchao, vice-president of the SPC, delivered a speech at the meeting, where experts and scholars from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the SPC, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, China University of Political Science and Law, and the Institute of Law, CASS, had gathered.
The documentary will focus on the origin and development of the Chinese jurisdiction system, and feature interviews of renowned domestic judicial experts, judges and lawyers. It aims to provide a comprehensive, visual archive of the development of the Chinese jurisdiction system through historical documents, experts’ views and visual imagery.
The participants discussed the feasibility and details of the project, suggesting that the documentary should, taking the Chinese jurisdiction’s historical development as the main line, fully demonstrate the progress achieved in today’s jurisdictional reform in China.
Jing called on the production team to tell the story of Chinese jurisdiction in ideological, academic and artistic manners, catering to the popular taste of the general public.
Meanwhile, advice from academic experts in related fields should be actively sought and followed, he added.
