Supreme People's Court in crime crackdown campaign
The Supreme People's Court announced a special campaign against crime at a news conference on July 21. Liu Guixiang, a member of the Court’s Judicial Committee, said that it is a joint effort with the Supreme People's Procuratorate and Public Security Ministry and covered 10 typical cases. The court also explained laws concerning refusal to obey court ruling and a Decision to Modify Regulations on Capping Consumption of the Guilty.
Courts across the country were having to deal with 807 cases of people refusing to obey a court ruling, as of June 30, and were using public security offices to look into the matter, leading to 706 people being punished for not abiding by the court’s ruling.
