On April 27, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) released eight typical cases concerning the protection of seniors' rights and interests.

The eight cases were selected from typical cases submitted by courts across the country. They not only cover traditional fields involving seniors such as support, inheritance, and the protection of residential rights, but also cover emerging hot issues such as the elderly care industry and consumption fraud. The selection of the cases takes into consideration of the special physical and mental health conditions of the elderly, and aims to regulate and guide the elderly care industry.

This is the third batch of such cases released by the top court. Since 2021, the top court has released a total of 15 typical cases in two batches, promoting awareness of the need to protect seniors' legitimate rights and interests.
